he registration process is open to all. Enrollment begins on January 1 and we continue enrolling until groups are full. Traditionally, our youngest camper groups fill up the quickest. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Deposit and Refund Policy
A $200 deposit in the form of a check made payable to "George School" must accompany the completed registration. This deposit is credited against the remaining balance of your camp tuition. The $200 deposit is non-refundable.  The tuition balance must be paid by June 1.  If, for any reason, a camper withdraws from camp between June 1 and June 15, an additional $100 cancellation fee will be charged, and you are only entitled to 30% refund of any tuition monies paid.  Those who withdraw after June 15 will not be entitled to a refund of any tuition paid.

All camp fees (camp tuition, extended care and busing) must be paid in full by June 1.  Unpaid balances may jeopardize your child’s attendance at camp. Late fees will be assessed on any outstanding balance after June 1st.

For questions related to your bill or making a payment please contact Rose Rosenberg directly at 215-579-6510 or rose_rosenberg@georgeschool.org. Rose handles all the billing for George School Day Camp and can answer any questions you may have related to your payment.

Once we receive your registration and deposit, your child(ren) will be registered and eventually placed in an age appropriate group. Rose Rosenberg will send out your monthly billing statements beginning in March.

DATES & RATES

Camp hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you need to pick up your child earlier in the day we ask that you sign out your child in the office with our nurse, Carol Marut. For the safety of all our campers, we may ask to see identification before we release a camper. In addition, we ask that you send in a written note in the morning announcing your intent to pick up your child early. This allows us to make sure your child is not scheduled for an off campus trip at the same time.

There are three session choices: First 3 weeks, last 4 weeks, or of course, all 7 weeks.

First 3 weeks:
June 23-July 11, 2008
$1,195  with own transportation
$1,600  with camp provided transportation

Last 4 weeks:
July 14-August 8, 2008
$1,600  with own transportation
$2,130  with camp provided transportation

All 7 weeks:
June 23-August 8, 2008
$2,140  with own transportation
$3,050  with camp provided transportation

Because we try to provide continuity in the group for both camper and staff, we do not prorate or adapt sessions. We realize that families have limited vacation time but we just cannot make exceptions to this policy.

Multi-Child Discount

There is a $15 weekly fee reduction offered to families who register more than one child from the same family.

Extended Care Program

The weekly fee for extended care for the a.m. session (7:00 to 9:00 a.m.) is $65.
The weekly fee for extended care for the p.m. session (3:00 to 5:00 p.m.) is $65.

Please see the registration form for cost details. Extended care can be arranged per occasional day at a rate of $20 per day.  Please speakwith the director about this arrangement prior to the start of camp.

TRANSPORTATION

Bus Service

As a service of convenience we contract First Student, Inc. to provide bus service for those campers who need it. Generally, most bus riders are from Newtown, Yardley, Holland, Richboro, and Langhorne. There may be areas that would be outside the practical area of transportation for our busses. In those cases we reserve the right to inform you that we cannot provide the service.

In most cases, the bus company is able to arrange for pick up and drop off at your house. Depending on the number of campers on the route, the length of time on the bus ranges from 5-25 minutes. There may be occasion when a camper is on the bus for up to 45 minutes depending on the size and distance of the route.

First Student, Inc. makes up the routes. They will contact you by phone two weeks prior to the start of camp to inform you the time and location of pick up and drop off. If you need bus service, be sure to indicate that in the proper area on the registration form.

Car Pool

The majority of our campers arrive and depart via car pool. Because of the volume of cars arriving, particularly for afternoon pick up, we ask that parents not plan to arrive before 2:50 p.m. Because activities are scheduled up to 2:40 p.m. everyday, the campers need sufficient time to gather their things, pick up a soda and head out to car pool line. We will not dismiss campers prior to 2:50 p.m.

To ensure the safety of all campers, we ask that parents participating in the car pool observe some practical safety precautions:
1. Drive slowly - there is a 14 m.p.h. speed limit while on campus.
2. Please be aware that the car pool loop road is narrow. Whereas two cars can safely pass each other, proceeding at a slow and safe speed limit will ensure the safety of everyone while on campus.
3. Please do not park in the Sports Center parking lot during afternoon car pool pick up.

The car pool route map will be mailed home in the spring mailing. All cars are to enter the northern most main entrance (the one closest to Newtown) and then follow the GSDC Car Pool signs posted at various points along the route. After picking up your child in front of the Sports Center, we ask that all cars proceed straight in front of the sports center and use the connecting road to Newtown Friends School which will allow you to re-enter route 413 at a traffic light.
